TeaBling Tea Series:
All anyone can ever say, after trying our teas for the first time, is WOW! Traditional tea lovers are accustomed to teabag-type teas. Most people know that teas come in a variety of flavors and colors. Most people do not know they history of tea, how it made it into our culture, nor how it is processed, or what varieties are available. Click here to read more about tea...
The TeaBling company exists, ONLY because of our custom unique flower teas and 8-Treasure tea varietals. We do not represent the benefits of consuming teas, made from herbs, however, if you do enough research on your own, you will find that any time you need to relieve certain ailments, that fresh herbs can provide an array of medicinal effects. Our teas ALSO provide aromatic, pleasurable and VERY unique experiences, due to their material nature, which in turn, create a better sense of well being. Check out each tea's special ingredients, in their product description in the shopping cart.
8-Treasure, "Babao" or "Babaocha" Tea Series:
Most treasured is our featured tea "babaocha", which literally means eight-treasure tea in English. Tea imbibers mistakenly believe that babaocha tea is from the Sichuan or Jiangzu area of China. Yet, it is from the Hui Clan, an ethnic group now inhabiting the Ningxia region of China. Babaocha tea used to be treasured as something very exquisite and was only reserved for VIPs. However, plenty of upscale eateries in China, nowadays hire at least one skilled tea waiter to pour guests the babaocha with a long-spouted teapot as a sideshow in their dining room. These tea waiters live mostly by tips, so they'll do all kinds of dazzling moves to impress the guests--moves like "the spread eagle" or "the dragon asking for directions".
Served in gaiwan (porcelain cup with lid), the main ingredient for the babaocha is of course the tea. The tea leaf can be from any variety of tea plant, but the jasmine tea is by far the most common. The remaining seven ingredients can be a variety of herbs, flowers or plants, like: sesame, wolfberry, raisin, walnut, flesh of longan, dates, rose, haw, huangshan tribute chrysanthemum, dried tangerine peel, camellia flower, lycium Chinese mill, and Chinese rock sugar. Brew with hot to boiling water for 2-4 minutes.
